Comments:
A shrubby tree to 10' tall distinguished by its viscous young twigs. Leaves glossy green, oval-shaped, 2-6" long, with sharp teeth along the margins. Catkins flower in March and April. Dark brown fruits are stalked, cone-like and solitary. A handsome plant noted for its beautiful leaves.
