Comments: A small- to medium-size deciduous tree with leathery leaves--dark green on top, pale green and tomentose below. Round lobes signify its membership in the white oak group. It grows 40-50' tall and wide. Open grown specimens develop with a broad, irregular crown. No fall color as leaves stay green into late fall. It can be used as a specimen or lawn tree. Can tolerate heavy clay soil but prefers moist, well-drained loam and is tolerant of both low and higher pH. Site in full sun or part shade.
